Frequently Asked Questions

Appointments

How soon can I get an appointment?

Appointments can be generally booked on the same day, or by the following business day. Please check for availability on our online booking service (click here).

Do I need a referral from a GP or other medical practitioner?

No referral is required, however, often patients may have seen a GP or Doctor who recommended physiotherapy assessment. A letter from that practitioner can be helpful, and if you have had an x-ray or MRI, reports of those can be very helpful in determining a plan of care.

What will I wear to the appointment?

We recommend wearing clothes that are comfortable, with shorts and a loose fitting t-shirt advisable for most issues. We also encourage people to bring bottled water, as you may be using exercise as part of your plan of care.

COVID-19

Prior to appointment?

Before attending your appointment, we will send a COVID-19 screening form, with the appointment reminder (24hrs prior to you attending the session). We kindly ask you to fill out this appointment prior to attending.

  • Have you been to any countries not on the green list in the last 14 days?

  • Have you been in close contact with any confirmed case(s) of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)?

  • Do you currently have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, cold, flu-like symptoms, loss or change to your sense of smell or taste?

If you have any of the above signs or symptoms, we may ask you to move the appointment to an Online Consultation.

What happens when I arrive at the clinic?

We ask all patients to only attend at the designated time, as we are trying to restrict access to the waiting area if possible. You will be greeted by your practitioner, who will again ask you the COVID-19 screening questions and check your temperature.

Do I have to wear PPE?

We will ask all patients to wear a mask when attending. In the gym area, where social distancing can take place, it may be possible to take the mask off at times. Hand sanitiser and masks will be freely available for use if required.

Will the practitioner be wearing PPE?

The practitioner will be wearing PPE when in contact with the patient. Currently we are abiding by Health service guidelines, which may change at certain times. Prior to your session, all surfaces will be wiped that you may come in contact with, in line with our infection policy. Patient safety is a huge priority for the business at all times, and therefore, strict abiding to all health guidelines will be enforced at all times.

Private Health Insurance

The majority of health insurance policies offer money back on physiotherapy sessions, however this depends on insurance company and policy. We would advise all patients to review their insurance policy prior to attending appointments.

There is tax relief for all physiotherapy appointments, this is now completed when filling out your tax return form. Please visit revenue.ie for further information.

Health insurance providers will ask for receipts for attendance at physiotherapy sessions. After each appointment, a pdf copy of a receipt will be emailed to you.

Finance & Payments

What if I want a receipt?

After completion of all appointments, your practitioner will email a pdf copy of your receipt to you. If you want a physical copy, we can print this off on the day. For further enquiries, please email info@rtp.physio

Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

We operate a strict 24 notice policy when cancelling or rebooking an appointment. You will be charged the full appointment amount if your changes fall within this period.

Can I pay in advance?

You can pay online during the booking process through our online payment service provider or pay on the day of your appointment.

To book online, card payment is the only acceptable method and we accept all major card payments.

Currently in COVID-19, we encourage people to pay online prior to attending the session, to minimize touching surfaces within the clinic.

What payment type is accepted?

We encourage contactless payment when possible. This can be done online while booking your initial appointment or after your sessions using our Stripe payment system.

In the clinic, please where possible use a card payment. This is to minimize touching of surfaces during COVID-19. We can accept either Visa or Mastercard.

We can only accept cash if absolutely necessary.

We do not accept cheques.
